Formed in March of 2007, cb Studios teaches steel drum playing in a group setting. Students spend class time learning music, technique, history and more in a relaxed rehearsal atmosphere.
We love steel drums. We will perform for just about anyone. We have played at malls and parks and schools and tailgates. We hope you will join us at our next performance either as a performer or audience member.

Chanler Bailey has been involved in the percussive arts in one form or another since Musical Kindergarten at age five. He took private percussion lessons as a youth and later went on to perform in an elite Drum and Bugle Corps.
Chanler has been playing steel drums since 1990 when WVU received its first set of instruments from Ellie Mannette. He attended WVU as a Percussion Performance Music Major and when Ellie came to WVU in 1992, Chanler began to learn the art of building Steel Drums as an apprentice.
While learning to build steeldrums, he continued to perform and teach. Chanler taught private lessons, highschool drumlines, as well as the WVU Drumline. In 2000, Chanler took an active role in forming Mannette Steel Drums, Ltd. and became President and CEO of MSD in 2005.
Chanler missed the teaching and performing side of the percussive arts and created CB Studios in 2007. He owns, performs and teaches for CB Studios.
